Be Beautiful

Hey there,

Being a girl is really hard because we are naturally insecure and self conscious. But u can slowly learn to accept yourself and accept your flaws. Truly it's possible because I am proud to say I think I'm beautiful and I love myself. It did take time but I got there eventually.

Firstly, you have to know every flaw about yourself and then find the good from the bad. Be perfectly imperfect. For example, I'm Asian (well Chinese if u want to be specific) so I have really tiny eyes, before I hated them, because they are so small and it's not a good look. But now I love them because they are so different compared to other people and they make me stand out. Some people may make a racist comment but I don't care because I accept my eyes are small but there's nothing wrong with that.

Secondly, you should change anything that can be if you're unhappy with it (NO plastic surgery). Change is good, it's different and may take a while to get used to but we adapt to it. This will instantly make you feel more comfortable with yourself.

Thirdly, you have to believe. This one is the hardest by far. At first I would look in the mirror and say I'm pretty but I didn't actually think that at all. I just kept telling myself flaws make you who you are, they make you beautiful. And slowly I did start to believe. It's not actually about being stunning or whatever, it's about accepting who you are and knowing that you are happy with yourself, and that makes you the most beautiful person ever.

Finally, there are nasty people in this world who will constantly try to knock you down with their words like weapons. You're best chance of survival is to fight back with a award winning smile and a shrug that tells them you don't care. It doesn't matter what they think of you, it only matters what you think of yourself. How are u supposed to feel amazing if you care what the haters say?

Just DON'T ever compare yourself to other girls, because thinking she's so much prettier or she's got everything I don't have is just pathetic, and will only make you feel worse. We are all different so embrace it.

It's all up to u, it's a metal game. Do this for yourself, compliment yourself, be confident and smile. The key is to be yourself, to accept your own skin and that's what makes you beautiful.

Don't be suffocated, be free

Hey there,

We seem to always get caught up in life and stray from good. By drama, family, friends, relationships, lies, hurt, messed up situations and I could go on all day. Because of this, we change, and become a different person. Sometimes for good or for bad. And you might just look back and think this isn't who I am; this isn't who I want to be.

We are young, we make mistakes, we learn, we change but can always change again. We are free to do what we want! Freedom is so important! Happiness is so important! Everyone has dreams and goals, but I don't think people realise that the main one should be to be happy.

With all these things constantly going on in our lives, we sometimes feel suffocated. With so many problems we face on a daily basis, whether they are life threatening or just a paper cut, we can feel like we are buried underneath and find it hard to breathe. Sometimes everything seems so complicated, but it's not. I think we just have to see through all the mess and cling onto what's important. We have to learn to breathe even when we feel like there's no air left.

Do what you want, because you want it, and do what you love to do, because it will make you happy. Do it all. Don't be suffocated, strive for freedom. Be free, and live life every every minute.

Stand Up

Hey there,

A lot of the time in life we stand at the side lines when we see people suffer. It is an instinct to cower from fear and pain. I think it is a great flaw of ours.

We see boys and girls getting picked on at school, even so, we do nothing to stop this. We all maybe know that one girl who hates herself and to take all the emotion away puts a knife to her wrist. Or one girl who thinks she's fat because others said so, and starves herself or after lunch goes to the toilets to throw up.

Why don't we make a stand and stop these terrible things from happening? Everyone is equal. We need to stop thinking about ourselves and start thinking about others. Talk to people you may not usually talk to, smile, and show them they're worth more than they think they are. It's nice to be nice. Stand up to the bullies, don't be afraid, don't be a coward. Be brave and be the kind hearted person that wants to help. Actions speak louder than words!

Nobody's perfect. We all do bad things from time to time. We will always sin. It's a fact. But we can try to be better than who we were yesterday. We can try to be good and live the right way.

Soaring hope

Hey there,

When I look into the sky and see a bird, I feel hopeful.
'The birds can have something we can never have. But merely by existing - by flying before us - they add to the daily joys of existence. Birds are about hope.'
For humans, flying is a dream that we can only try to achieve, but never will (unless you're on an aeroplane). Birds give us hope because with flight they can go wherever they please and glide through the sky.

I feel like hope is one of the most important feelings to have, after happiness of course. To be hopeful, is seeing the positive in the negative. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

I envy the birds, they are so beautiful, the way the glide and soar without a worry in the world.  The way they can feel freedom in every flight they take. Freedom. Something we all crave. The birds have it in a way we might not ever have. But we can hope to be as free as them, going where the wind leads.

But 'in freedom, most people find sin'- the fault in our stars. This makes freedom dangerous, it makes it treacherous. But something about breaking the rules makes us feel alive. We do things we wouldn't usually do, and act on impulse, we don't think about the consequences. Which makes freedom amazing.

So, be hopeful, be optimistic, be free. Even if it does mean breaking a few rules.

Ohana

Hey there

A while back I watched this video and found it so inspirational.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vx0EtPqDwqk

This man loved his mother so much but didn't tell her until she was on her death bed. I think we can learn so much from this.

We all take so many things for granted. Our families would do anything for us, but do we ever thank them for just being there? Our parents who go through so much just to raise us, suffering from boring jobs to maybe give us a better childhood compared to what they had. I know my parents have, they both came from poor backgrounds with only enough money to buy an outfit per year. My dad was born with six sisters and slept in the kitchen. From the time he was 18 he worked and worked until he got to the success he has nowadays. All for what? All for me, my brother and my sister.

Yes, we are teenagers, we fight with our parents and yell 'I hate you' when they don't let us do what we want. They just care about us and don't want us to make stupid choices. We all love our family, no matter what, so don't take them for granted. Appreciate what you've been given. So, the next time you want to fight with them, stop and think about the things they have done for you. Learn from the mistakes of the man in the video. Say 'I love you' and tell your family what they mean to you before it's too late.

They are the people who will always love you, no matter what.

All around the world

Hey there,

Recently I went on holiday to Bali (which is a beautiful island that belongs to Indonesia).  Everything about it was SO different from where I live. Different is good. Yes, I would say Bali belongs in the third world country zone. You grow crops in your garden, you eat it. You buy bricks, build your own house and live in it. But in a way that makes everything simple. I've remembered this quote ever since I heard it.

I love that their life style depends on hard work. In the back of gardens are patches of vegetables. There are paddy fields everywhere. Which are truly beautiful, but some people would just look at it and say it’s just grass..! Well no, I think it's a lot more, it’s food, energy, dependence, hard work and to sum it all up, it's exquisite.

Before, I said I wanted to enjoy the little things, and that's exactly what I did. One night I went to watch the sunset by the ocean with the ones I love, my family, it's one of the prettiest things I've ever seen. I would say watching the sunset is a safe haven for me. Please, next time you have that chance, go see it. It is captivating.

There were SO many moments on this holiday I enjoyed, which made me realise. I've been to many places and I'm only 15. But the thing is there are so many cities, cultures, tourist attractions yet to explore. And I want to see them ALL. I guess what I'm trying to say is everywhere you go you will find beauty, whether it's in architecture, the natural landscape, a piece of the past, maybe even a single flower. This world is a beautiful gift so be mesmerised and appreciate the wonders it shows.

This is to all the girls!!

Hey there,

Why are we all so set on trying to be ‘perfect’?  Why do girls try to be like size 0 models? Skinny does not look good, healthy looks good. You are made the way you are for a reason. We are all unique, so why try to be someone you're not, why try to be perfect when nobody is? What do you; yes you reading this think the definition of perfect is? Everyone has a different opinion on what's 'perfect'.

I'll tell you what I think is perfect. Being comfortable with who you are, not caring about what other people think of you because it only matters what you think of yourself, feeling beautiful, being confident, feeling happy, and most importantly not judging others for their looks because you wouldn't like to be judged either

I know that 'I'm no beauty queen I'm just beautiful me'. Yes, I do think I'm pretty -not because I am- but because I won't ever compare myself to anyone, because I don't care what other people say or think.

I know my weaknesses and that makes me strong. Personally, I don't have a good feature on my face and people could compare me with a twig, but all those flaws and imperfections make us who we are, they make us beautiful. I won't ever say I'm not good enough. We are all good enough, one day we will all be good enough for our personal Prince Charming. It doesn't matter about what you see in the reflection, we all have beauty within.

'Time flies'

Hey there,

Time goes by so fast. Everyone says that. Well it's not true. This week is going so slow and I want it to be over! Why? I don't know, I'm just fed up of it being long. We don't even live in the present do we? We all think time goes by so fast, but it doesn't. We waste all this time thinking about our future! Thinking about how much better it will be. But in reality it will stay the same unless you make something of that minute, hour or day. It's been a year now since I moved to my new school and I want to say time flew by so fast but it didn't.

Time is so precious, especially because we see it as 'going by so fast'. Don't live in the future or the past, live in the present. Spend every minute of every day doing what makes you happy.

I WANT....

Hey there,

I decided a while back, on New Year's Day to be precise, to live life very every minute. I want everyone to realise how wonderful life really is! I read this book called that boy (amazing book), there was a quote in it which is:

'do human begins ever realise life while they live it every every minute?'

This got me thinking I WANT to live life realising the wonders of it! I WANT to enjoy the little things like sunsets, parties, telling jokes, friends, family and the lists goes on and on. I DON'T want to be 80 and regret what I did. I WANT to reminisce on the good times, memories, even sad beautiful ones! I WANT to capture important marvellous moments! To dance in the rain and not wait for the storm to pass

I WANT to smell the roses.

To be carefree and HAPPY. To feel pretty, it doesn't matter if I am or not! I WANT to have my heartbroken and cry until I run out of tears. I want love! Every girl's dream, but I guess I will have to be patient and wait for my Prince Charming. I WANT to take chances, sing loud, scream from rooftops! Make terrible decision but learn from them! To be stupid and random! To tell the truth and travel the world. Those are just some of the things I want.

But the most important thing I want is for all you people reading this weather it is only 1 person. To want the same, to realise they want to live life every every minute and not waste time. Always remember

Decisions decisions decisions...

Hey there,

You make a hell lot of decisions in life. Choices. Whatever you decide in that split second when an opportunity pops up. You learn later if it was a good or bad one. And if you choose the bad one, well you have to deal with the consequences! But it doesn't matter what those consequences are. As long as you CHOOSE to learn from that mistake.

We humans, are the furthest thing from perfect. We were born to make mistakes. If you believe in science, well our creation, the creation of the universe was one big FAT mistake. The Big Bang the reason we are all alive.

As well in the Lion King Rafiki says:

Don't run from it. Learn from it. We have to make the most of what you can get out of life. To make the most of the bad decisions. Because once my best friend told me. 'Every cloud has a sliver lining'.

I Just Came to Say Hello

Hey there,

I am a 15 year old not so typical teenager. I was conceived into this wonderful world on 29th June 1998. I live in the magical land of the UK, and to you I will be known as 'Beautiful Dreamer'. But to everyone else I am known as Joanne...
I definitely agree with Marilyn Monroe when she said:

I think Earth -the green and blue sphere in our vast solar system we call home- is MARVELLOUS. That is why I want to live life every every minute. Most days I will learn something important, and now that I have created this blog, I would love to share my lessons with you. If there is actually someone reading this :/
